TECHNOLOGY

Technology and Enterprise is a key learning area in the College curriculum that covers a wide range of subjects, including Food and Nutrition, Clothing and Fabrics, Mechanics, Woodwork and Metalwork.

In this creative area of learning, students from years 7 – 12 are exposed to a wide variety of practical experiences in which they apply knowledge, skills experience and resources to the development of technological solutions that are designed to meet the changing needs of individuals, societies and environments. Students become innovative, adaptable and reflective as they select and use appropriate materials, information, systems and processes to create solutions that meet community and personal needs.

Occupational health and safety issues are explored and discussed as students prepare for participation in the wider community of work, home and recreation.

Maranatha Christian College has a purpose built industrial technology centre located toward the rear of the College. In addition well equipped home economics rooms provide a bright and interesting centre for cooking, nutrition and sewing activities.
